Moms who has their kids in speech therapy. What were some signs that made the pediatrician recommend…

They recommended it for my daughter when she was 1 because she wasn’t as many words as she should by that age. And it worked. Now she’s 5 and she talks up a storm. The speech therapist was the best we still communicate cuz she fell in love with my daughter and my daughter with her.

My son never made any sounds (other than crying/screaming). So by 2 the pediatrician gave us a referral. He is almost 4 now, still no words. Still in speech.

@bundl3ofjoy25, how was she talking before she was 3? Did she know a lot of words? Was she mispronouncing a lot of words?

@tracymarie, see she knows a lot of words just mispronounce quite a few and shy knows her colors and all animal sounds. I’m confused on if I should be worried or not

@imanimomma, thanks! Is your kiddo showing signs of possibly needing speech therapy? If you feel that your child could benefit from speech, talk to your pediatrician. They could at least get you an evaluation with a SPeech therapist.

@desert_chick, yeah maybe I’ll do that. She doesn’t show a lot of signs I feel like maybe I’m just rushing her that’s why I’m looking to get some insight on it

@imanimomma, getting an evaluation will either get her some help, or give you peace of mind that she’s doing good. Your being a good mom by trying to get info for her💜

@imanimomma, No don’t be worried. She will be fine. It’s okay to be nervous it’s your child. I’m the same with mine.
