My RE’s office waits until the first OB ultrasound which I think is 6.5-8 weeks? Then I’m discharged to regular OB. Regular OB doesn’t see patients until 8 weeks anyway so it’s all good. I did it through Kaiser so the system is integrated and it’s nice that all the charts should be open to all. I think I will follow up though and make sure he assigns me to a high risk doc, MFM since I’m 36 and counting. 😉
I scheduled my appointment in advance of graduating from RE because I’m high risk due to ic. My first appointment with ob was at 9 weeks when I graduated from RE and the RE discharged us with the due date.
That’s so awesome!!! I really like Shady Grove. They do a lot of research because they’re so massive which I think is great. Sibley doesn’t do IVF procedures so I had to go to Rockville for that. Not a big deal!
@kimberly810, I went to the office in Annapolis. Loved them! So encouraging at the first appointment we knew they would help us make our baby. We decided to try and iui first since our infertility was unexplained and it worked the first time! Our little girl will be here in October
This may be a dumb question - you didn’t wait until you graduated to schedule with a regular OB? I guess I’ll ask my RE when they discharge us, and make sure to call the OB a few weeks ahead of time to make sure there’s no lapse in care. Thanks ladies!
When i graduated from my RE they gave me a paper to give my gyno and to make and appt with them. If I remember rite I was 10+ weeks and saw my gyno at 12 weeks.
