Just took my blood pressure at home and it was 138/84. Is that considered like really bad?
@akcatprincess, Thank you, I will definitely be taking it easy for the remainder of the pregnancy 😌
@jasminelewis655, okay good to hear. Just keep checking it if it’s consistently high that’s when you should check for other signs of preeclampsia, even if it’s not preeclampsia tho high blood pressure alone (they call it gestational hypertension) while pregnant will cause you to be montitored more and I even got induced because at the end of pregnancy my blood pressure was high everytime they checked it so they induced me at 39 weeks. Just try to take it easy to keep it down :)
@akcatprincess, I always check it in the morning when I first get up or after I’ve been resting for a while. I’d hate to see it after being active lol
@jasminelewis655, I understand. One time I had a doctor tell me it’s natural for a pregnant women’s blood pressure to be a little high but that’s NOT true it’s actual natural for it to be a little low. But if you were just walking up stairs or even laughing can raise it a little for just a couple seconds. So try checking it after you’ve been sitting for awhile, definitely monitor it tho
Anything over 120/80 is technically considered high but doesn't seems crazy high.
The top number is in the normal range. The bottom is slightly high. I work in healthcare, I'm not just pulling info out my butt lol. Not alarming, but worth a call to your doctor. Most illinois doctors don't worry unless you hit 150/90 and don't prescribe blood pressure meds unless you're hanging in the 160/100 range, idk about anywhere else though.
@taylorc, Yea, that’s really high! I’m hoping mine gets lower or at least doesn’t go up anymore. I’m being induced on the 19th so I just wanna make it to then
It's not terrible but kinda high, I was induced at 36 weeks cause my blood pressure reached 211/110
That works for high blood pressure I never knew that mine gets high which scares me
@mommie2be26th, I’ve been taking aspirin all this time to help prevent the high blood pressure, but I guess the magic of the pills are wearing off
@ttbaby09, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on it. I have a doctors appointment this Thursday. I’m hoping by then it’ll be back to normal
@akcatprincess, My blood pressure is usually good around 115/75. I had preeclampsia with my last pregnancy, so having it get this high is a little scary
Anything over 140/90 is considered high. That bp is fine. Keep an eye on it. Make sure when you take it your feet are flat on the floor and your arm is at heart level
It’s really not that bad. Mine got over 140/90 and that was considered definitely concerning for the doctor
@akcatprincess, Thanks! ❤️
