I’m 4 month pregnant and deal with a lot of manual labor at work. I’m on my feet 8 sometimes 11 hours a day. I lift about 20 pound boxes too. I work at bath and body works and they’re shower gel boxes are no joke. Do you think I’m over doing it? I was use to this work before so I should be ok, right? Or do I need to not lift at all? At the end of the day I’m waddling lol and my feet kill me. The other day I had period like cramps too which worries me. I’m just afraid I’m over doing it.

I would bring it up to your OB. If your hurting like that I wouldn’t.. they can put you on modified duty

Being on your feet not so much. Lifting 20 pound boxes. That’s not good for you. If you have any cramping or pain it’s time to change your work load. The being on your feet is ok. But not the lifting

The max limit to lift is 20 pounds while pregnant. I work at Sonic so I’m on my feet for almost 10 hours but they don’t let me touch anything heavy. Walking is good, you just have to listen to your body and know when to stop.

My ob asked me what I do I said nursing and I lift 200 point patients and I got ripped a new one! Better be careful the farther you get into pregnancy or it will hurt you and that baby

I would definitely talk to your doctor about it because everyone's situation is a bit different. If your body was used to doing it prior to pregnancy, it could possibly be fine with a bit of modification. I'm constantly lifting and carrying my 30 pound son around and I've never had issues with it because my body was already used to it.

All obs opinions are different. I too work in healthcare and lift 200 lbs regularly, my doctor said if I was doing it before pregnancy I am capable of doing it pregnant, she didn't restrict me on lifting until like 32 weeks. & now I'm just not supposed to lift alone, I can still lift.

Actually depends on the person I am not even allowed to lift a gallon of milk

I work 40+ hours a week and lift people(deadweight) that weight about 115-140 pounds multiple times a day , my ob said I was fine as long as no symptoms associated the lifting , light headed , stomach cramps , so far so good though some doctors wont risk it though.

Yeah, I tend to cramp some at work and I have had a constant dull ache in my lower left abdomen for about two weeks now. I think I’m gonna start taking it easy. Thank y’all! I don’t see my doctor again until the 22nd. I’ll be sure to ask her all these questions and tell her everything. THANK YALL
