@baby04ever, this is perfect! I think we have everything figured out. Your definition of infertility is spot on. I think there was just confusion based on the name of the B.B. group, but that totally doesn’t matter anymore. We’ve asked mom.life to add more specific groups. Problem solved!

This forum from my understanding is confirmation of pregnancy through hpt/beta test wether becoming spontaneously pregnant or doing fertility treatments i.e., meds, or artificial insemination or IVF after 1 year under age 35 or 6 months over age 35 of ttc with or without assistance.

There is no such term as ‘easy infertility’. Infertility is objective in that either it effects you or it doesn’t. There is no bias with infertility it can effect anyone at any time.

The struggle with infertility sucks and in many cases causes irreparable damage to relationships, emotions, finances, physical harm, etc., however in many of these cases there is usually a light at the end of the tunnel. Miracles and rainbows do happen!

It has been from my experience that many women I have come across have suffered in some ways from infertility but keep fighting the good fight no matter how painful and exhausting the journey becomes to motherhood, myself included😉

Becoming pregnant after infertility is a different entity all of itself. For some pregnancy is a breeze but for others it’s still a struggle and in both cases the worrying never stops!

And just piggy-backing off of what Expecting said: I think there’s a unique experience with some of the advanced treatments, too. For instance, my sister and I both have PCOS. Hers is actually worse than mine. But she was able to become pregnant by taking Metformin and losing weight, which I’m sure wasn’t easy, but not even close to dropping tens of thousands of dollars, being a pincushion with all of the needles you stab yourself with everyday, not being able to stand up straight because you have 35 follicles like I did, the major mood swings that come from the hormones. It’s just different, and I honest to god wish I didn’t have to be in this club. But here I am, and I get a lot of comfort from being around women that have gone through this unique experience. It’s not meant to diminish the feelings that others have. I think we are going to start an IVF specific group for this reason. The only confusion we had was that this group had this exact same name as the group in BabyBump.

@spookylyn, I understand what you mean about not having a “specific” pregnancy group . This channel was created by request to mimic a group we had in the other app . However, it is an “open” channel so other women who have struggled with infertility and get pregnant are more than welcome. When you have struggled with infertility and then get pregnant , it is definitely a unique experience that some women who haven’t struggled may not understand. I think the overall feed of for all moms , pregnant and not pregnant . I usually post my general pregnancy stuff there and the rest in this one. .... infertility is defined by one year (depending on age) of trying to get pregnant naturally without any success . Then the doctor will usually intervene . Thanks for sharing your story. I’m glad you got pregnant ! Congrats .

In my opinion anyone who has struggled with infertility and gotten pregnant can post here. Ladies who have not had that experience can too , but they will likely be redirected , especially with comments that don’t relate to the purpose of this channel .

@kimberly810, this group was created to mimic the old B.B. one for sure. But let’s move to the IVF one when it’s ready!

@spookylyn, I thought you could change it so you can see globally. I don’t have distance restrictions but I know someone that had issues overseas.

@lizziel, hi, I think it’s because as we moved over to Mom.Life, they specifically created these groups after some of us asked for it from B.B. That’s why they created the Pregnancy After Infertility and Infertility. The issue that we are having is that the number of channels that existed before were underdeveloped and didn’t have the general pregnancy channels etc. Mom.Life has been working hard to make updates to create a cozy new home for us. So I say let’s give it some time. I think the style of the app was driven by newsfeed mostly so channels seem to have been less often utilized. It would be great if we can create private channels for ourselves.

I think this is simple. I will ask the moderators to create more specific forums. There is an IVF one in the works. And I’m told that one is going to be bumpable.

Yeah, the app could use some improvements that’s for sure. Again, I think the confusion is that the BabyBump group that had this exact same name was only those who pursued infertility treatments like IVF and IUI. And I guess everyone’s definition of infertility can be slightly different, so I can see how it’s confusing. For instance, both my sister and I have PCOS, but my sister had no trouble getting pregnant. In the end, it really doesn’t matter and we all have our struggles and our feelings are valid. There’s really no intention to be hurtful, I think there are just many of us that would like an IVF-specific group since there’s really no way to understand what it’s like to go through it unless a person has done it herself. I know I have specific rants and questions about it, that’s all. So maybe this isn’t the group for me and we should create a new one. I’m open to that!

Yeh they need to make lots more specific groups where people can go and share similar experiences, I think where the confusion has come from is there was a specific group called preg after infertility on B.B. and all the women in that specific group had had advanced fertility treatments such iui, Ivf, donors and surrogates for whatever reasons/causes. Because on B.B. there were so many other specific groups everyone could find somewhere where they felt at home with women with similar experiences they could really relate to and it’s not the same on this app.

I think the channels are really odd, there should be general pregnancy and things but there isn’t, When I saw pregnancy after infertility on here I thought great, it’s so specific I thought It would be that just like the B.B. one, but it’s not, they are def lacking in a lot of the normal channels, why would you have preg after infertility group and no general preg or birth month type groups, it’s all a bit odd!!x

And please understand that we all totally get that everyone’s struggles are valid. But actually doing IVF is a monster (physically, emotionally, financially), so I think we are just looking for a group that’s specifically for that. Whether or not this group winds up being it, well that is totally up in the air 😂

Is there a place you’re going that’s more active? And specifically for those of us that went through infertility treatments (IVF, IUI)?

@kimberly810 This is a group for Pregnancy After Infertility supposed to be like the one we had in pink pad . Meant for those of us who went through infertility treatments and then got pregnant. The regular Infertility forum is for ladies still going through treatments to get pregnant . We don’t get much activity like we did in the other one ... I wish we did. some people may not know since this forum is new to mom life . If we had regular posting we could direct ladies to the right forum like we used to do in PinkPad

Sounds good! I was just thinking this was the same group that was in the BabyBump group of the same name. I think everyone in there had either done IVF or IUI.

I am TTC with infertility issues, I haven’t posted on here but I follow so that it gives me hope that one day it will happen and hoping soon I will be able to post in this group

Hmm, hopefully it’s just an odd day with so many general TTC questions. I feel for those women, I really do, as I went through that process for years. I was hoping to be in a group specifically for those that pursued fertility treatments. It’s just a completely different monster to have gone through and I think it changes your perspective during the pregnancy. I’ll give this group a shot though 🙂
