I’ve done this before. Don’t freak out you’re not a horrible mom. Apply pressure and some ice if you can. No bandaids because he could put his hand to his mouth and choke. It takes a little while to stop bleeding but keep applying pressure. You can cover his hand with a sock or hand mittens later on. There is no need to take him in tomorrow.

I've done that before smh makes you feel awful but it's ok almost every mother has accidentally done it. Just put a little neosporin on it. It'll heal in a couple days.

@mct, no problem. I’ve done this maybe 3 times and cried each time because I felt like crap.

My mom cuts my baby sister on accident literally every single time. Babies heal quick, just apply pressure and he won’t even notice. You’re no where near a horrible mom 💙

Awww, well don't worry and get to upset. It happens and it's not your fault. Just breathe and apply pressure to his finger like @dontspankme said. But I'm like you, if it really bothers you then go ahead and take him to the walk in clinc. But your not a horrible mom. A lot of moms and dads do this and the baby is just fine. It's just feels worse when it's your baby. But just relax and talk to your son, say aww, mommy sorry and she loves you! Hug him and just cry if you want but try not to get to worked up about it. I k OB its easier said than done. My son fell off the bed head first but it only happened once! And I still feel like crap about it. 😔 Big Hugs and I'm here if you want to talk.

I bite my sons nails til he got older and honestly I still do lol but are you breast feeding? I put some on my sons nails the first time I tried cutting with nail clippers and it healed within the next day.

@mother.of.2 not breastfeeding but can still express milk. I'll try putting some on it.
