@xomarylee, if it rolls to the side it isn’t properly installed :) if you will find out what kind of seat it is I can walk you through a proper install and possibly find you a video, or make a video for you if I have access to the same type of seat.
It should move 1 inch or LESS from side to side and front to back AT the belt path (where the seatbelt/lower anchor strap goes through the car seat) once it’s installed. No regular movement of the car, even curves and even if you take them fast, should cause your child restraint to move. Please message me with your car seat details so I can help you! 😄
@tegandavis16, thanks!! I didn’t know but i don’t know what kind I have because I had got it installed in my car as a surprise but I will try to figure that out. We just have a lot of sharp turns where I leave and I’ll hate to see my car seat roll to its side while my baby is in it.
@yesicondaa, Graco has stated that for their rear facing car seats you must have a space big enough to slide a piece of paper through 😊 so it can be REALLY close. Lol just not actually touching.
@tegandavis16, wow!!! Thanks!! I have a graco modes 3 lite colton click connect it came with the stroller.. not sure if that’s exactly what you need in order to find out
@xomarylee, hey 😊 just letting you know most car seats don’t allow “bracing” where the vehicle seat touches or pushes against the child restraint. It could cause it to malfunction/break in a crash. There are only a couple of manufacturers that allow bracing. If you let me know what kind of seat you have I can find out exactly what the manufacturer states for your specific seat :)
Behind the drivers seat. I’m usually on the passengers and can reach my baby at all times and also I usually tell the driver to put the seat back a bit until I know the car seat won’t move one bit.
