Yeah your in the more expensive window. They are the cheapest roughly 2 months out from the date. The closer you get. The more expensive they are. I just bought tickets for my oldest son to come visit and it was $387 and he’s coming end of July. And it’s CA to WA which isn’t even that far. Same coast.

I’ve checked Expedia, orbitz, kayak, spirit, allegiant, cheapOair, lastminute, hopper, and sky scanner.

Any regional airports near you? Flights from the major airports here can be upwards of 500 but the small regional nearby could be a fraction of that. Like, back in April all three of us could've flown to MN for less than $150.

Southwest airlines has really good prices on flights

Clear your browsing history between searches on the same sites, as they track your cookies and can jack up prices when they know what flights you're interested in.

You can also try Google Flights, then contact the airline directly to see if they'll give you a better rate.

I personally just bought (4) round trip tickets on the 23rd from NY to CA on Orbitz for July 4th for $385 each.
