I did and didn't use half of what I packed

I only have blankets,pacifiers,bottles (I’m breastfeeding but I got bottles just in case she doesn’t wanna latch on),her grooming/safety kit,diapers,an extra pair of clothes or two and her coming home outfit

All u really need is clothes for the baby maybe 2-3 pairs they usually provide everything else like diapers they have their hospital pacifier which is the only one my son ever liked and if ur not breastfeeding I believe they even have bottles with formula for u

@nikki9109, They stopped giving moms diapers for the baby while their in the hospital and they no longer give formula either because they say breast milk is better for the baby they stopped that when I had my son almost two years ago

We brought it just in case but didn't end up needing it. Can't hurt to be prepared though.

I only take what I'm bringing baby home in. You can always call l&d and find out if they provide diapers or formula for baby. That would help in your bag packing.

I usually do. But I love 30 minutes from the hospital and babies are unpredictable, so you never know when you need a pit stop.

We brought a few of everything. If the hospital had it we tried to use their stuff first to save ours.

I did. My hospital didn’t provide anything for baby or myself. We only stayed a day and half.

Baby:

Diapers

Wipes

3 outfits

Diaper cream

Hygiene kit

Blankets

Burp cloth

Receiving blanket

Wash cloth and towel

Myself and husband

Hygiene stuff

2 outfits

1 set of night clothes

Shower shoes

And food for my husband (we don’t eat fast food) (I ate at the hospital food)

I packed and brought a diaper bag but it never entered the hospital until it was time to leave. The hospital I was at provided everything I needed for my son when I had him.

A question for you moms who has already given birth: Do you recommend bringing in the hospital bag with you before giving birth, or leave it in the car and bring it up after the birth? I don’t know how the rooms are going to work

I had my diaper bag packed how I have it packed everyday. It was already ready to go. I wasn't going to take things out just because I wasn't going to use them right then at the hospital.

I was at a different hospital with both kids and both hospitals had everything. And whatever was left when I was leaving they packed and sent home with me. If anything keep a diaper bag in the car just in case. But bringing it in just gave us more to carry out when we left. I brought my bag in right away but I was induced so I had a ton of time to kill. So I had things packed that I could do and keep me busy.

Thinking about it more after I posted I would totally recommend bringing your hospital bag in right away. When baby was born and everything calmed down I really enjoyed showering and getting out of my hospital gown and just getting comfortable. Having my bag in there just made me feel more prepared and as at home as possible.

Haha no worries. I pretty much packed the day I was being induced!
