@driastewart, you can put the Cheerios in whichever he is most comfortable with. It won’t hurt the regular toilet.

@blessedwithnumber4, thank you.. for the Cheerio method, put the Cheerios in the actual toilet or in his little potty?? A momma is getting desperate after walking in on him taking his Pamper off and playing in poo 🤦‍♀️

Started training both my boys around 15 months. Especially when they woke up from a nap dry, we would rush to the potty. Best thing I found that worked was letting them pee on Cheerios in the potty and making a reward chart for when they would go in the potty. Nothing extravagant but I’d give them their favorite snack, or sticker, etc whichever they wanted. Plus I know it’s a pain but taking them potty every 30 minutes is the best way. If you have a little potty for them then take it to wherever you are in the house with them! Then when they start knowing when they have to go potty start trying underwear and really amp up how awesome it is they are wearing them. Oh and at nap time and eventually overnights I’d put them in pull ups, the ones that turn cold when they pee in it so it would make them aware that they went in it. Most kids don’t like that cold feeling down there. Lol I hope this helps!
