I've put up with his abuse for years. He called the cops and he went to jail. Why do i feel like I did some thing wrong?

That's his mom. Did you really expect her to be happy about her son going to jail?

I was in an abusive relationship with my sons dad. He got in a lot of trouble and has to have supervised visits. His mom hates my guts, so I understand how you feel. Brush it off and move on. So glad you have your mom. ?

O I understand . Truthfully I've grown to understand that many ppl live by loyalty over truthfulness but the irony is that loyalty is IN truth..but they're basically going to be like idc if he was wrong I will always stand behind him. Smh. It's definitely wrong and completely not an act of love but that's their ignorance and lack of love/understanding that will bite them in the end. Parent or not I will never back a/my child when they're absolutely in the wrong. That's not setting a good standard at all. Obviously look at his own actions.

It's hard when you're dealing with someone's abuse for that long because you're so used to being manipulated into thinking that every bad outcome to any situation is your fault. Maybe that's part of the reason you feel bad about it? Either way, you shouldn't let it stress you out. You had no control over the outcome. I hope you feel better.

Everything is for your good. So now you see his family's reaction now you know where their hearts truly are. You don't need that negativity and those disingenuous vibes around you and your children...only those that are truly supportive of you. Have faith k it's all going to work out for your good.

Get your ducks in a row right now that's his in jail. And get a protection order if you are scared. Its okay OP you are going to look back and be happy that it happened. Hugs! ?

When the police came did they give you the info about requesting an emergency protective order?? The police officers carry that in their vehicles and will stay with you till you have it filled out so they can turn it in themselves. Usually it takes about 3days or so. So even if he makes bail he cannot come to the house til the EPO expires which is anywhere from 31-91days. That'll buy you some time to figure out your next move. Make sure you also except from the domestic violence groups/assistance out there for you. They will 100% have your back and do their best to keep you protected.
