Ok these are los top teeth. Last week he fell and smacked his mouth. The er Dr said there was no permanent damage.

He would be in pain had he broken them

My daughter did this too, she fell and hit her front teeth on the floor. The front right one bled a little, and damaged the root of the tooth a bit (if you see it in an x-ray one of the "prongs" is a bit thinner than the other), it looks a tiny bit discoloured, but you wouldn't notice it if you weren't looking for it. Luckily it's only her baby teeth, so it's only temporary.

This happened to my lo the other day but I didn't take him to the ER. Now I'm thinking I made a mistake I didn't know there could be damage done.

They are definitely not broken you can see the mamalon on the edges. (Looks like little ridges or scallops which are natural to help break through skin food etc.)

They maybe be pushed back a little and mobile. I would suggest going to a dentist to make sure they are not mobile because this can be a choking hazard if the tooth falls out due to broken nerves etc.

If LO hit them hard enough chances are the nerve is damaged or actually died. The tooth will turn grayish and infections are more likely.

My ds1 who's now 3, about a year ago he fell and smashed his face on the floor. We'll a couple days later he was complaining that his mouth hurt, I had a look at his teeth and the gums around the front left tooth were red, and I touched his tooth and it was completely loose ? I could move it back and forth, but it wouldn't come out. So we went to the dentist and he had to pull it, otherwise it would've got infected. He was only about 2 1/2 years old when this happened so now he'll be missing his front tooth for a few years til his adult one comes in ?.

I hope he's okay poor baby! Looks painful. They do appear to be okay to me, but if you're worried about it then def go to a dentist at least for peace of mind! And pp, so sorry for him loosing his front tooth. They couldn't do like a fake implant or something? I think my cousins dd had something like that done, but can't remember it was a long time ago.

They said that since it's a baby tooth, it's not worth doing anything for it. An implant or the like might get in the way of the adult tooth , plus it would cost hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to get one. And because it was just the one tooth too, they said everything should stay aligned til the permanent tooth comes in anyways.

Thank you ladies. They are not mobile. I'll watch for any discoloration or infection. He is SO rambunctious, always getting hurt.?? So was so scared he almost left his wallet at home!
