I sure hope my 5 months old loves me? all these sleepless nights can't be for nothing!

Also, he smiles when he sees me, follows me with his eyes when I walk by, cries when I leave... Aren't these signs of deep unconditional love? ?

And when he feels angry or upset he cries or slaps his arms at anything nearby (that's a new thing) so I'm sure babies feel anger, frustration and sadness

I think my kids just have stockholm syndrome

I honestly think my son is more capable of purely loving than an adult is. He doesn't judge me for not looking great or being grumpy. He just smiles and knows I'm here for him and he wants to see me laugh.

He is a simple little human who definitely is capable of love...and I'm so lucky to have him in my life.

When he was a baby - baby, I think it was more primal but once that bond was established and he could stay awake more than an hour...yep, he loved me.

It's weird looking at him going "what are you thinking" at any stage so far. Everything is new and facinating and exciting...and mommy and daddy are just the most awesome things ever!

Of course they can, they're human. Just because they don't understand it doesn't mean it doesn't happen! My son is a toddler now but I've always known I'm his number one ? the way he saved his smiles for me as a baby was the first sign ?
