I think everyone should at least give it a try, if it doesn’t work out it’s okay too.

You can always try and stop, you can’t not start and try later. If you’re considering - I definitely would give it a go. It’s an amazing gift to give your child.

I ff my first, I pumped for my second and he ended on formula (he was a micro preemie so I couldn’t breast feed) and my third- I breastfed. I am so glad I did. It was an amazing experience and I knew the benefits from seeing how breastmilk saved my preemie’s life.

Definitely give it a shot! I know it makes babes super dependent on you and that can be a bit intimidating, but it’s actually easier I think. I tried doing bottles with pumped breast milk and the process was such a pain haha. It’s nice being able to just put baby on you whenever.

Can I just suggest you buy some nipple balm BEFORE you start, if you’re going to? I always wait until later when my nipples are sore & in pain. I know it’s usually a latching issue, but I swear it’s also from cluster feeding and comfort nursing. Just a heads up! It’s very helpful.

I personally said I wasn’t breastfeeding from the beginning, even before I was prego and was just talking hypothetically. However, a few weeks ago my cousin (who is a nurse) begged me to try breastfeeding for one week to help build the baby’s immune system. I also saw how my sister and nephews bond was because of breastfeeding and it was BEAUTIFUL, definitely different then the bonds between formula babies. Not in a bad way, obviously baby’s who are formula fed love their mommies, but breastfed babies just have a diff bond I can’t even describe. So I’m going to give it a try, but idk how long I would last. You should try if ur curious about it. No harm or foul (:

I tried with my little one. She broke skin on my first time i was bleeding 😭😂 So definitely handy to have a nipple shield, lanolin cream and tender care hydrogel pads. I used the Medela brand. I didnt produce milk right away so i needed to pump to build my supply and also formula feed. We had met with the lactation consultant for like about a month. Tried a lot of things to help me breastfeed. Anyways, i never got the chance to exclusively breastfeed . By 8 weeks we had switched her to Similac Alimentum due to her reflux and milk sensitivity

It’s definitely worth trying. I exclusively breastfeed my son and I love it. Saves money, very convenient, good for bonding, and it’s so good for him. Good luck mama.

I think you should try it out. Like everyone else said, if it isn’t for you, then you can stop & switch to formula. I had to stop & switch with my daughter because she had GI issues and needed special formula but with my son, he’s 15 months old & we’re going strong. I love it.

So many pros for me: you build an amazing bond, it’s a beautiful feeling knowing you’re suppling your baby with the most nutritious milk just using your own body, no buying formula, no packing bottles when you go out, no washing bottles, don’t have to worry about making bottles in the middle of the night, I could go on & on.

I breastfed all three of my kids for over a year each. I loved it and I can’t wait to nurse my next little one.
