high-risk mummies, were any of you banned from having sex? i have read some bits and pieces about it…

@ezchaz, yeah i think i’m just being waaaaay too cautious because it’s twins and high risk becomes extra high risk. i should be banned from google not sex 😂

@kathleenc, is that purely because you’re high risk or is there other factors? 😩

@mistybabie, I’m high risk because I have an incompetent cervix. I have a stitch that’s holding my cervix closed to stop me from going into labour. Sex makes you contract which is dangerous for me as it can set off labour. xx

@kathleenc, ahhh i see, sorry to hear that must be a pain. how did you find out about that if you don’t mind me asking? 😕

@mistybabie, I found out in January after I went into labour too early. I had my little girl at 21+5. I just had a little bleeding at 20 weeks and after I was checked they told me my cervix had opened and that I was going into labour. They tried to stop it with an emergency stitch but it was too late and my waters broke. she was born a few hours later xx

@mistybabie, It was caused by the weight of my uterus pushing down on my weak cervix xx

@mistybabie, Yeah unfortunately it’s not something you can diagnose until the worst happens. Thank you😘 Are you high risk because your having little twins or is it down to something else? cx

@kathleenc, Because it’s twins and my mum had pre-eclampsia with all 4 pregnancies, and history of blood pressure problem and i’m ever so slightly over BMI 😂 handful of things what can you do 🤷🏻‍♀️ xx

Aww lol. I’m sure you’re being taken care of though. I guess one of the good things is we get to see our little ones every 2 weeks! Makes it all a little easier😋 xx

@kathleenc, yeah they’re keeping a very close eye on me and it helps my GP had twins a couple years ago too so she really sympathises haha. oh i know, 8 days until i see my babas again 🙃! xx
