So I found out today that next Monday my grandpa is going to have assisted suicide.

He’s been dealing with liver cancer due to years of being an alcoholic. His cancer has spread into his throat and is causing him extreme pain. There’s nothing doctors can do.

I don’t really know how to feel. I’ve never been all that close with him because of his drinking. I feel sad about it but I really feel for my dad and uncle who are going to go through another death just 10 months after we lost my cousin. I know it’s going to be hard as he wants them there when it happens.

Since I had Maddox my grandfather has really made an effort. He loves him. My dad often shows him photos of Maddox and he cries.

I feel so torn. I wish I could have had a better relationship with him.
