She will do a pelvic exam to make sure the cervix is closed. Will get all your lmp dates and such to get the due date. And possibly a vaginal ultrasound to make sure everything looks good and the sac is in the uterus and not the fallopian tubes.

This is what mine did at my past 3 pregnancy first checks (3rd was a miscarriage).

I have my first o.b appt with my 4th pregnancy Tuesday. Super excited and haven't been able to sleep. I think partly because I'm worried since I did have a miscarriage last year and haven't seen a Dr yet.

They didn't do a pelvic exam at mine. All they did at my first appointment is ask question on history family history things like that then did ultra sound to make sure not ectopic and date to give estimates due date and maybe have you pee in cup.

@jaytabke514 I understand. I get scared every time I go to the bathroom that there is gonna be blood. It is so normal!!

@ladyrose870, I’m just having cramps feelings, which I know is normal with my uterus growing at rapid rates, but it just is a really scary thought. I honestly wouldn’t be able to handle it

@laneylou it is difficult to deal with. I had one last year and was depressed but don't think of that. Stay positive. Drink lots of water. Eat good.
