This is such a crappy but freeing feeling. I’ve been there. Lost that friendship two years ago and it would have been 20 years this year.

Same. Like @queenmeeks, said, it’s a crappy feeling. Hopefully it’s for the best

@queenmeeks, well my former high school best friend and I stopped speaking back in January basically because she can’t handle that I’m a mom first but this friend now was part of the other friendship as well and it’s annoying that I’m expected to be the person I was when we all met but I’m a mom now. My priorities changed and I’m not sorry that they expect me to feel trapped by motherhood. I wanted my son and I’m happy to have him. I love being his mother and I love having my life wrapped up in him and the life my husband and I have created together. I feel bad that both of them haven’t found it and are missing out.

@mswedes don’t ever feel bad about your priorities changing. When they become parents, they will see how it goes! If they are already parents and are giving you hell, they’re pretty low for that. Love on your baby and spend as much time with him as you can. They’re only this small for so long! Anyone who is a true friend would understand this. I’ve gotten lucky that I’ve been blessed with some other long term friends that are supportive and I hope you have that same blessing as well. Friends are an important part of our village.

@queenmeeks, I never apologize for the amount of energy I put into my son. He deserves my attention and love. Anyone who can’t hang can (pardon my language) but they can fuck off. 🤗lol I went through a lot to be with my husband, so it was disappointing to see them stick by me through that then jump ship now. My friend just keeps making comments like “well since he’s asleep you can have an hour or two to enjoy your life”....ummm what?!
Queen Meeks·
@mswedes I know that’s right! Hell an hour or two to enjoy my life means I can watch a show or have a glass of wine or just be absolutely lazy. They just don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, j enjoy going out with my friends occasionally but I prefer being at home with my baby!
