One of my friends sister said that having a posterior placenta makes the birth more painful. Is that true? Just wish she never said it she’s freaking me out! 🙈😮

I would say it's probably not true. Having a posterior placenta is the best place for it to be because it's out the way and causes no restrictions for birth.

I don’t think it would make a difference. And how would you no if your placenta is making it painful? I wouldn’t take much notice x

Placentas don't effect pain in labour. Unless it is covering the cervix in which case you'd have a c-section x

Unless the placenta is covering your cervix it’s not a problem and has nothing to do with pain xx

No i think its untrue. That's the normal place for it. I had anteria plactenta (Which is at the front of the stomach) this restricts only feeling of momemovemts with my son and that was a normal and lovely birth!
It's only a risk if the plactena is blocking the birth canal which if you had they would tell you straight away so I wouldnt worry in the slightest x

Thanks all. You’ve just made me feel better. She got me all nervous and worried. It’s not something I would say to someone who is expecting especially their first. When the midwife told me the placenta at the back she had only said that I should feel my little one early.

@babykinder2018, she sounds like she’s trying to scare you but is actually talking crap lol xx

@rachaellw, sounds like she is. I’m so nervous about it all and it’s the last thing I need to hear that from her.!
