I’ve been through this. It is hurtful in the beginning but as long as you love it and you know the name fits her beautifully then ignore them. They will learn to love it because of how much they love her. ❤️

Athena is a pretty name! Who cares what everyone says. Your child, your decision. My oldest son's name is Acelin (pronounced Ace-Lynn) and so many ppl didn't like it and then they would say things like "Ppl are going to make fun of him, it sounds like Iceland" I didn't care at all and I still named him that 🤷 forget them girl!

I haven't had nobody say they hate my daughter's name- but lots of people can't pronounce it- which is annoying... I was asked once why is her name so difficult IT'S NOT! Lol... Don't let anyone get yo you girl... You got Kim k naming her kids directions and cities and you name it... You're all good!

I think the name is Beautiful. Don't let other people dictate what you name YOUR child. If they don't like it they can not come around.

What! Athena is a beautiful name and like everyone else said, what matters is that YOU like and are happy with the name.

My mom hasn’t said she doesn’t like the name I picked out, but so far she can’t seem to remember it or pronounce it properly which is pretty annoying.

I absolutely adore her name! And people told me they didn't like my boys names. It's very hurtful. My dad made fun of our new babies names and that crushed me because Declan's middle name is named for his dad and him! My grandpa's name is John and my dad's middle name is John after his father. So when my dad decided to mock Declan's name it really got to me that he completely ignored that we were also trying to honor him and his father. So I've also decided that if people are interested in inserting their opinions where it isn't welcome I will just let them know that hey it's fine if you don't like his name. He probably won't like yours either!

Athena is a beautiful name. Anyone that doesn't like it can suck an egg and obviously never got the education to know who Athena was. Its an amazing and powerful name!
