I Wish Speech Therapy Was Working Better , I’m Just Ready To Hear My Son Talk Fully 😩

How do u know when you baby needs speech therapy ? I was kinda asking myself the same thing does he just mumble ??

@jellybeans_mumm, by 2 they should be saying a minimum of 25 to 50 words different websites say different things but my son didn’t hardly mumble he said less then 10 words and used a lot of gestures .

@quansmommyy, my son says about maybe 6 right now , but uses a lot of hand gestures I guess I’ll just keep an eye on it thank you!! ❤️❤️

Speak to your pediatrician. My daughter's said that he wanted her to be saying at least 50 words and some sentences. She understands everything you tell her or ask of her, but wasn't speaking much, so he recommended speech. @jellybeans_mumm

And the earlier they go, the better results.

@quansmommyy, yes it’s been a year and he still says the same 10 words he been saying and the only new word he learned to say and sign from speech

She talks a bit more and uses sign as well. She doesn't talk as much as I'd personally like, but it is so much more progress from when we first started.

You are lucky he’s saying 10 words. My son just started talking more still not many words . His favorite sentence is “what’s that “. I love to hear his little voice .

@jellybeans_mumm, yes keep an eye on it definitely he’s still fairly young but the closer he gets to two if he isn’t saying much I recommend speech therapy .

@breloya, that’s good I’m glad you having a better experience then we are . , it’s really been one sign that he has gotten down pack but still won’t say much too so it’s frustrating he been to two different therapists now they starting to try to use the iPad see if that will help him better

No problem. If you're ever concerned about any of his growth or milestones, definitely bring it up to his doctor. If they don't want to hear your concerns, find a new one. I hope he starts speaking a little soon. It can be worrisome seeing all the other kids in the same age bracket talking and your little isn't. But he will do so in his own time or with a little extra help. 😊💙 @jellybeans_mumm

I bought her a fire kids tablet from Amazon as well. I got her learning games on it and that helps also. I've noticed her attempting to sing along to the alphabet and other songs on it. She has books, etc on it. Also, if he isn't having much progress, you can schedule 2 or 3 sessions a week. Pay only goes once a week. She started saying "I love you" a couple weeks ago. And she's almost 3 and it's the first time she's ever told me that. Not gonna lie, it made me cry lol.

@breloya, I’m going to look into that tablet thank you , He goes one a week for 30 min and also does occupational therapy the same day and in feeding as well . and aww omg that would definitely make me cry I bet it was the sweetest 😍😩 .

It's so worth it. I let her use it twice a day for one hour each time. It also comes with a year of freetime. So all the books, apps, videos are all free for her for an entire year. So it's basically a year free trial and I can see what she likes and doesn't.

They had her in OT right after her speech, but I felt like that was a waste of time and took her out. It wasn't doing anything for her. She literally spent 45 minutes playing in a ball pit. She has a giant ball pit at home. 🤷🏽‍♀️
