Do you get a pediatrician before or after baby is born?

You pick a Pediatrician practice before but they assign a pediatrician after baby arrives.

I had mine picked out before she was born

I got mine after with my first, and then my second used the same one. The hospital provided a pedi while we were there though.

With my first I just let the hospital assign him one and that dr was absolutely awful, he was so creepy and weird. I changed to someone else who is much better and chose her before my second was born.

I had to have one for my hospital, they had to call right after he was born for her to come the next day and take a look at him.

I just went with the same pedi I had growing up

I did my research and chose beforehand. I called the clinic to see if she was accepting patients and she was. If you wait until after though it's usually not a big deal.

I have a place in mind. It's the one I went to growing up but it's on the other side of town.
