Okay so this is a question for the moms who get cold sores. Is there anything you have to do…

No I don’t kiss my kids when I have one. They can kiss my cheek. I get some cream called lysine from Walmart and use it. My sil has a friend and her boyfriend was really mean to her kids and would kiss them around the eyes when he had a cold sore and the youngest actually lost his vision due to it.

I kiss my babies if I don’t have a cold sore but I don’t if I have any sign of one. I use abreva and take lysine supplements when I get an outbreak

Also the sun can cause outbreaks so wear spf chapstick when outdoors

@damn.it.red, thank you I have to get some of this lysine for sure I am just scared of hurting him I see all these scary articles of things just like that kids loosing vision and stuff and now I’m paranoid!

@tacos4lyfe, yep. I have two and I’m almost positive it’s from being in the sun so much.

I get them when I’m super stressed. 😩 lysine, abreeva, and wash my hands constantly when I have an outbreak.

Valtrex is excellent for cold sores. I have a couple bottles already. Just try not to kiss their eyes or mouths generally and don't kiss them with a cold sore.

@mommynmotion Valtrex is a prescription medication, I have the generic valcyclovir 1000mg. You take it when you feel the tingle coming on and most times it prevents it from coming up at all!
