Honestly I'd say to wait. I got pregnant when I was 18 and had a miscarriage. I was already out of school and graduated though. Then i got pregnant again at 19 and now I'm 21 and now have 2 babies. I'm trying to go to college in the fall and it's going to be hard. We are financially stable, but I want more for my babies. I'd say as long as you can provide very well for the baby as in having transportation, food, or having money for things they need. Then go ahead. But my advice is go to college or find a great paying job before you decide on a baby. I'm not saying it's impossible to raise a baby and do all of that, it just makes it a little harder when that baby is in the picture.

Are you financially independent? Do you live on your own? Pay your own bills? Do you have health insurance? Labor and delivery alone cost $30,000-$40,000 and that does not include pre natal appointments, ultrasounds, or bloodtests.

Do you both work? How much is daycare in your area? What is maternity/paternity leave like in your job? Do you guys plan on getting married? If so, why not wait until you are married? Do you have your own car?

Those are a just a few things to consider before thinking about having a child.

Make sure you two are financially independent first, and I suggest waiting about a year after becoming independent before TTC so you can see what your budgets look like and what you can afford to do. It will also allow you to save money for when the baby arrives so you can adjust to your new lifestyle with a kid with less stress.

@mrschanandlerbong95, yes I’m financially independent, I live with my boyfriend we both have jobs. He pays the bills. I have no idea on the health insurance & I didn’t know about all the rest 🤔 but I’m sure we can come up with the money. We don’t believe in daycare n I haven’t talked to my boss about that yet he knows of our situation tho. Yes we plan on getting married next year n no not yet but he’s going to help me get one.

Do you both have stable jobs? Your own house? Cars? Health Insurance for you and the baby? Do you know the Cost of daycare? Can you afford to go without pay for 6-8 weeks?

If you haven't sat down and figured these thing out financially...you need to. You will be much happier if you are able to provide for your child.
