@joadorable, I used to feel like this as well. In fact, when I had Eddie I felt like I had nobody to talk to, I felt so lonely, I never used to go out whatsoever, my friends never bothered. It was a completely different world to what I expected it to be. But I just felt so guilty to be staying in all the time and not doing anything. So I really just started going to mother and toddler groups, going for long walks, going for coffee, going to the park, even if it was only me and Eddie, etc all the time. But there’s a lot of helpful mummy’s on here. You should never feel alone, because there’s plenty of us on here who loves to help out. xx
@angelh, this is exactly how I’m feeling right now. I’d love to take her to play groups but get really anxious when I get ready to go and end up just staying in all day. I feel so guilty that I don’t take her out xx
@joadorable, aww! No honestly it was the worst feeling ever. You’re not alone. I used to feel anxious about that as well. I mean of course I don’t go out when it’s pouring down, screw that, but whenever it’s nice outside and not raining we always go out. If it’s just to go for a walk, that’s fine, it’s fresh air. I think every mummy is the same who goes to the play groups, it’s just to get out and be social, and obviously let the kids have some change of scenery😂. I used to be shit scared of going to those. Because I would think other mummy’s would judge me for maybes how I’m dealing with a melt down, or whatever. But it wasn’t like that. At the end of the day we are all in the same boat, when it comes to being parents. It’s not an easy life I don’t think, haha. But it’s so worth it. The guilt of staying in all the time really got me, so I just gave myself a kick in the ass and went out, and to be honest it was the best thing. xx
@angelh, I think I just need to push myself a bit more and go to a play group and more walks. I never thought being a mummy would be so hard. Thank you so much you’ve given me hope xx
If it’s anxiety, anti depressants can help with it. Also I’ve heard the more you do stuff like go out the easier it is, but it’s just trying to get past those first times. I have low self esteem also, so am about to start a low self esteem course which is run by the well being service. I’m not sure if they do it in all areas. But if you search well being service nhs and they can offer lots of different services xx
@egw.mmh, I do need to go to the doctors just takes a few weeks to be offered appointment. I’m going to start pushing myself to go for little walks everyday to start with hopefully this helps. I’ll have a look at the well being service sounds like a good idea xx
