When they can undress themselves well enough that it would help avoid accidents as well as when they can tell you they have to go and you notice a dry diaper for a long period of time.
When you do start the best advice I got was let them run around naked and put them on the potty every 15 mins just to try. If they don’t go. No big deal. If they do make a big fuss about it so they get excited too!
Once you get the hang of how often they need to pee you can extend the 15 min mark.
My mum swears blind by introducing them to the potty as a toy as soon as they can sit up and building from there. I guess it works because we were all potty trained by 12-16 months.
My son was the hardest one... I started potty training him at 12 months- by 20months he was fully potty trained... My daughter I started potty training when she was 11 months, by 14 months she was fully potty trained... But all kids are different ... Personally myself I believe in showing them early, to me it makes it easier... I also don't believe in pull-ups because they do the same job as a diaper which soaks the pee and it doesn't bother them- I go straight to underwear... (Diapers at night) it takes time, patience, and alot of rewarding!
I started to potty train my son around 15/16 months and he picked it within a week. I believe it was the perfect age for us bc he could understand the concept. I did the whole naked idea and it was a fail for us, he didn’t seem to care. So I dressed him in big boy underwear that he picked out and let him be. He peed himself and felt disgusted.. after that he started to go on the potty himself. Also I would let him watch videos of kids using the potty. And everytime we left the house he would potty before. I kept a portable small potty in the back of my car too so he could use before and after we go into the store etc. good luck with potty training mama! Consistency is key!

@kiki221. Whenever he starts walking n he has his balance.
The way my mom did with me is let me run around without a diper on and put my baby potty in the living room so i could sit and watch tv.
