So hubby is trying to get on disability because he’s diabetic, bipolar, he has anxiety, depression, and adhd. The lady tells him that he has worked too much in the past which shows that he can work overall his problems. So I’m confused. Is he not supposed to work, not make money and become homeless?!?! Like that’s stupid to me. He literally struggles at work everyday. He’s fell asleep while driving to work in the mornings which scares me. His feet and legs are sore to the point where It hurts to be touched. His doctors all have taken him out of work so many times because of his problems but I guess they don’t see that smh. What does a person have to do to get disability in this world?!?!

Is he helping himself with some sort of remedy for these ailments? Holostic approaches? Prescription meds? Anything?

@tinyhumansbitch, see that’s the thing he’s been on it before and he has so many doctors that’ll back him up. It’s just a struggle here to get approved. In some states you can get disability for being diabetic but in Virginia you can’t. But thanks I hope he gets help soon too cause it’s scary and heartbreaking to him struggle and have to worry about him driving to work every morning alone.

Look up the requirements for disability in your state. In my state, it's cases like brain damage and heart problems that get you disability. My dad is brain damage and is on disability. He's worked a lot too but has had problems with working.

@reginafan85, he has tons of medications that he takes at night that he takes. Some days they help and some days they don’t.

@tinyhumansbitch, in this state he’s supposed to have disability with all those things. He has ptsd as well from prison. He’s been certified and examined for everything and his therapist and other doctors say he needs to be on disability.

I'd then suggest he see a psychiatrist. Have him explain the situation. He may need a psych eval that could possibly be sibmitted to the state.
I know in PA it csn be extremely strenuous to get on assistance. Sadly too many ppl try to take advantage of it, leaving the ppl who truly need it up against a tougher battle.

@reginafan85, he has and they’re willing to back him up but they know nothing about disability 🤦🏽♀️. He has all of these except autism and retardation (which I hate how they worded that)

My dad had to fight like 2 or 3 years to be on disability. He even had to get a lawyer. You guys might just have to do the same! Good luck!

@lpheartsyou, that’s the thing. It’s hard for him to work. He’s been in icu numerous times for his diabetes and taken out of work but if he doesn’t work the bills won’t get paid. That’s what I don’t understand. He doesn’t have a choice but to work whether if he’s able to or not. So I don’t think it should be based on that.
