Formula Feeding Mamas, any tips on how to fly with babies on formula? The cans say once made it has to be used within 1-2hrs. Do you make multiple bottles at home and take with you? And how do you keep them cold or warm?
I had water measured in bottles already and one of the dispensers someone else posted. The first time I flew with my son, I didn’t bring water thru TSA and I could only find cold water from fridges at the stores by the gate. So here’s a tip, you CAN bring your own water thru TSA if it’s for feeding your child...just make sure it’s in bottles so they don’t argue. They will take it away to test it for explosives but they just run it in front of a machine it’s not a big deal. Good luck
I always filled one of those formula dispensers and an empty bottle then I’d ask for warm water from somewhere in the airport. You can also ask flight attendants for water too. I’ve done both. The dispensers are nice and save room though and then there’s no mess you just pour the pre measured amount into the bottle. Also you are allowed to bring water for your bottles but that always makes your tsa check longer then it needs to be.
My flight was only 4 hours but I took and unopened can of formula and water and when I got through airport security I stopped at a Starbucks and asked for a cup of hot water and warmed up the bottle in the hot water or you could invest in a bottle warmer that’s probably the easiest way
I always just brought the can, bottles & bottled water. They just test it by holding a test strip over the opened container. They don’t touch it or anything. It’s an extra step & wait through security but it makes it easier.
