Is it normal for a 6 day old to be cluster feeding? By that I mean she goes through these spurts where she will nurse, not be full and I’ll give her a bottle of milk (usually 2 oz) and then right after that she’s rooting again for boob. I can’t nurse on my right side so it’s only my left side being used right now.

The rooting the second time may just be her looking for comfort. Do you use a pacifier?

Normal. Do you plan on breastfeeding? If so you need to let her nurse when she wants. It may seem like 24/7 but she’s just establishing your supply.

@db413, that’s what I’m thinking. So far she’s not a huge fan of them, I’ve been trying.@_sheriee, yeah, I breastfed my son for 2 years and we always fed on demand, same I’m doing for her. Just thought boob 2x + a 2 oz bottle within 30 minutes was a bit excessive for a 6 day old. Who knows. I just make sure to burp her well after each feeding and she has great output.

@babyjjsmommy, sorry I was working earlier. But if she’s already used a bottle. Try a bottle nipple as a pacifier. My son won’t use pacifiers but he will use a bottle nipple as one
