So my son isn't feeling good. He had a 101.4 fever but it went down. But he wants to be held and not put down, won't stop crying.. Seriously tried everything! Not sure if he's getting a cold or getting sick. Would it be bad to give him some benadryl? In case he is sick, and since he may be fighting his sleep. I personally don't want to but my boyfriend says we should. He told me ask your mommy app and see what they say... So what's y'alls opinions??

Me personally never used benadryl but for pain tylenol or motrin whatever eases his little pain ❤❤ hope he feels better

I wouldn't use it to help him sleep, only for allergies, but I have nothing against Tylenol or Motrin if he's uncomfortable or in pain.

Keep him alert until you can get that fever down. Switch off Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours.
Try a cool towel on his forehead and some children’s Vick’s on his chest. He should fall asleep on his own in no time. If he is fighting sleep, talk to your ped about 1 mg of melatonin. That’s what I have to use for my son to help with sleep.

Children's Motrin. Not only does is expel fevers, but unlike Tylenol, Motrin will target pain PLUS any imflammatiin within the body.

Yeah I'd try Tylenol pain and fever which can help him feel better or motrin

Benadryl can have a paradoxical effect and make them very wound up and unable to rest. I am never a fan of giving a child anything to try to get them to sleep. My two cents. It is hard when they are sick and fussy but that isn't the answer. I hope he kicks it soon and the fever burns off whatever virus it was.

@jenx Yeah, I agree. I told him I'm not giving him any but ill still ask for advice. He seems alright now. Playing with his cars. Not sure what was wrong.

Are you the one that the child was burned badly earlier? You should be taking him to the doctors ASAP.
