Is this normal? We just got my son a new car seat it's the Graco 4ever. But the bottom strap is cutting into his leg... Does anyone know if this is okay? Or how to fix it?

Try putting some shorts on him? That's what I have to do with my daughter in her car seat. Chunky thighs always cause issues lol.

How old is your baby? Does using it with the insert help?
Shay·
Also. The slit by his diaper. Is that for the bottom of the straps? Maybe moving to that one would help. I can't really pinpoint what I'm talking about so I help my description helped lol.

4 months and no.

I have the same seat and the straps sit lower down on his legs too, I was told it's normal. Make sure you aren't overtightening them. You only need to tighten them enough to remove the slack, they don't have to be super tight.

You don’t want to move the crotch buckle out because then it’ll be too far from him and he’ll slouch in his seat and cause the straps to loosen and not be below the shoulders.
You could try taking the body support pillow out and see if the straps are still below his shoulders and that may help with the straps on his legs. Also be sure you aren’t over tightening, they only need to pass the pinch test

The buckle is out as far as it goes. If it isn't right here then he's sitting on it. The pillow is out and it still does it. And it's not over tightened either

@saajane, it did it with the insert in as well?
Sarah Jane·
@santistevanmommie yes
Shawna Santistevan·
@saajane, okay I’d suggest just putting shorts or pants on him while in the seat to help lessen the marks some. My daughters seat does this too, she doesn’t complain about it but it bugs me so I always make sure there’s some of her clothes under the straps.

It’s not a safety concern and he should be fine though
