We finally moved yesterday. Now we have to unpack everything and clean the apartment super good so we get our security deposit back.
Probably would have gotten more done yesterday but spent a total of 3 hours on the phone with Comcast 🤬
First they told me I couldn’t move my box from the apartment by myself cause they upgraded boxes and they’d have to send someone out to give me a new box and router. Of course that’s a charge. So I offered to drive the 45 mins to their service center to avoid the 60 dollar fee.
Finally get home. Set everything up and nothings working. So hour one spent on the phone trying different lines and they insisted they were all the lines were dead and they’d have to send someone out. They were still trying to get me to spend that 60 dollars lol.
I asked to speak to a manager because the last people here had Comcast and there’s no reason the lines should be dead.
Spent a half hour on hold just to get another team member who then spent 45 mins telling me to try this and that. Followed by 15 mins on hold. All during this time I checked the box everything was hooked up outside so no reason the lines shouldn’t work.
Come to find out the last tenents left behind this little box with a Cable cord attached that gives the lines power and that needed to be attached. Thank god they left it or I would have had to pay 60 dollars for a tech to come out to do that for me. It should have been included in my self install kit but wasn’t.
Then the internet still wasn’t working so I spent another hour on the phone with them to come to find out the Comcast office didn’t give me all the paperwork to tell me I had to go to a special website to activate the router. 🤦🏽♀️ someone’s manager is getting an earful on Tuesday morning !🤬
@johnell yeah, that's sort of their MO. What they're taught as how to screw people over. They tell you that you're going to pay a certain amount every month for a year or two years and then the next thing you know your bills come back different amounts of money. All you have to do is tell them exactly what you want nothing more nothing less and if they don't do it tell them you've already gotten better offers for the exact same thing from other companies and if they still give you crap just cancel your service then call back in a month and sign up as a new customer.
@mommiesaremagical14, I know I feel bad for yelling because I know they are just doing what’s taught to them but I mean come on now every time you turn around Comcast is trying to charge you for anything they can find. Like I was so tempted to call Verizon ! They buy out contracts !
Comcast is a pain the ass!!! We have them and when we moved all I wanted to do was transfer and they told me the same thing. They needed to send a tech out to set it up anyway since they upgraded and tried to charge us for an installation since they had to send out a tech but it was a transfer!!! I put a stop to that real quick!!! You gotta be an asshole with these people otherwise they'll walk all over you and screw you over!!!
I've been dealing with them for about 6 years now I know how they work and a crap they try to pull. I save so much money from this company because I catch them in their bullshit.
