What do you ladies do to boost your energy levels on a daily basis? I’ve been struggling with my energy levels ever since I started suffering with depression again last August. I do take antidepressants but this is one side effect that my meds aren’t helping to relieve. My therapy ended since I met all my personal goals and was an amazing help for me. The lack of energy every day affects my productivity and I NEED the energy!! Help a busy mama of three please.
I agree that exercise does help with energy. When I leave the gym I have a ton of energy. I don’t go that often but I’m going to start back up going 2-3 times a week. I have the time though my kids are both in school 3 days a week for 4 hours so I should be going to the gym then but I haven’t been. U have a lot on your plate right now. Are u going to school all summer? Or are u almost done for summer break? U also have 3 kids right? So I’m sure their schedules are super busy!! I like @bebe-, cocktail idea!! Maybe try that and see if it helps. It’s hard some days I’m full of energy and others I’m not at all!! And it’s hard when u have kids to look after and activities to go to. And your working and going to school full time. That’s a lot!! Wishing u the best and I hope u can get your energy levels up!!
He carpools with a coworker during the day but I don’t get off work until after he already leaves otherwise he could take our car. I am looking to switch to an overnight job because we can’t afford the cost of daycare and we need me to bring home my normal average for checks. Transportation at night is a no go because he doesn’t get off until 10pm. We are trying to scrap up the funds to get his car fixed so that would elevate that part of the issue. Adulting is so stressful!
@scoons637, wow you have such a full plate! Is there anyway your bf can take public transportation to work or carpool w a coworker?
@ek620, yes; that is part of my issue. I also have college to do and I’m sucking at balancing that along with everything else! So I’m doing college most of the day on Saturday and Sunday just to get all my assignments in, quizzes etc. It’s terrible! I feel like exercising may just add to my tiredness but I want to at the very least; start walking on a regular basis (my job does happen to have a lot of that but I need to do more).
@scoons637, I completely understand. I’m exhausted after work & feel guilting taking an extra half hour to work out before picking my up my son from daycare so I’ve stopped going to the gym. I know it’s important to take care of myself but I feel overwhelmed with the stuff I should be getting done at home too. Mom guilt & exhaustion is strong!
@ek620, sadly no. By the time I get home from work, I’m exhausted. But most nights I have so much to do and I don’t get to bed usually until 11-12am since I have to pick up my boyfriend from work Monday-Friday. I really do want to incorporate exercise into my day but I can’t seem to get a routine or keep it. Once I miss a day it’s always hard to get back in.
Have you had blood work done recently? How are your vitamin D and B12 levels? Just something else to check, but when I started having trouble with energy, my blood work showed lower levels of those vitamins. I started taking supplements at night and within a few weeks I started to feel a lot better and wasn't falling asleep sitting up every night before 8.
