I mean theres a higher risk of complications during a c section but idk about the whole death part. Ive had 3 c sections. And will be having a 4th in july and im still alive. Idk why your ob would scare you like that. My ob never said anything to me about dying but he did talk about how if complications would arise they could have to do a hysterectomy.

They should know at this point if head down or not. Did they not do an ultrasound to find out? Sounds like a very unprofessional dr if she literally told you about death when talking about a csection. Of course every surgery has a risk. But it's a pretty routine thing these days.

@latraicee, oh ok well then you're most likely having a csection. They rarely turn this late in pregnancy. Don't mind that DR maybe she was having a bad and insensitive day! You and your baby will be fine, girl! But totally normal to worry!

Yes, It's possible as there is a 3% chance. I've heard of some turning last minute though like as labor starts! At 38 weeks they have very little room to move and fluid is reducing. The manual ECV may work! If not they usually go right to a csection.
