I'm a little bit annoyed at my other half. Several months ago we went into a pram shop and put a deposit down on a £550 pram set. I paid the deposit of £50 and my man said he'd pay 100 pound off each week till its bought off and then help with little bits and bobs. Anyways, that was about 4 month ago and we still owe £300 to it. So basically, he hasn't really bothered much at all. Instead he's gone and treated himself to fancy dinners at work and whatever else. He had that one thing to take care of! I went and bought the cot, bottles, clothes, bedding, blankets, changing matt, bath and I'm about to go into town today to get breast pump, sterliser, monitor, grooming kit, changing bag and bouncer, all on top of paying the rent, council tax, phone bill, tv licence and water rate 😕. So whilst I've been putting every single penny I have into this baby and going skint for months on end, he's been living it large and has kinda left me with the aftermath of it because we've only 8 week left and that pram was supposed to be checked off by now so we could both get stuck in with the finalising of baby things in the last couple of month. I'm livid. 😕 he knows I'm annoyed because I keep telling him that pram should have been paid off but I don't want to cause an argument so I'm going easy on him. But I needed to vent my frustration somewhere :/

@winnie1 he moved in with me, I was paying all the bills via direct debit anyways, he had it sweet living with his aunty before moving in here so I didn't want to take much away from him. So we split a deal, I'd pay all the bills like I always had done if he bought the gas and electricity. Worked for me tbh because it was one less thing for me to worry about. Almost like a bill off my back for him simply being there.

The pram thing has totally annoyed me. I could raise hell but it's not going to get us anywhere. It's only now we're in the final months that it's really getting to me. It's got me worrying about getting everything in time as I'm pretty much securing it all on my own now, even if he did decide to shape up, he still needs to pay that pram off so I'm still left to pick up the rest. I'm annoyed, I really am xx

@winnie1 I think I might be a bit more firm about it. I'll pull him up tonight. I hate arguing with him. He does so much for me around the house and really takes care of me. But financially I can't do this on my own all the time. Suppose he's going to feel it eventually because once I'm out of work and on mat pay, he's really going to have to pull his finger out because I'll not have any money at all after all the bills come out. Then he can feel some of this stress xx

@ezchaz I'll pull him up tonight. Orginally I thought I earned a lot more than him, I'm on quite a high wage but only recently I discovered we earn about the same so I'm also confused about where the hell all his earnings go. He always says he's "shit with money" I'd call that an understatement if he can blow a wage like that and have nothing to show for it. He's defo going to have to fix up before the baby arrives because once she is here he is the only provider till I get back into work. He'll have to get everything she and I need. Which I suppose would balance all this out. I'll talk to him tonight anyway but I wanna try stay calm xx

I think men don't realise how much prep is needed for babies. Try not to get dressed out. I'd just sit him down and ask him for the money for it and extra for anything else you need xx

You need to have it out with him. It doesn't need to be an argument but he needs to know he has to get it paid and give him a date it has to be paid by. He's not a child. He's a grown man who will soon be realising his world and how he currently lives is going to change dramatically. Once babies here he'll start to realise but for now it doesn't mean he should be 'let off'. Lol

Honestly to me he seems to be selfish your both earning the same amount of money but you seem to be paying everything towards to house and your baby while he's off splashing the cash. You need to put your foot down and tell him your not going to stand for it. It took both of you to make the baby so he should be paying half of the costs or half the bills or tell him to move back to his aunties. Sorry if it sounds harsh but he needs a kick up the arse.

@amylillymae I reckon that would happen if it did turn into an argument. I'd just tell him to go back to his aunties and reevaluate his life. Which is a bit too far hense why I'm holding my tongue lol. I know he has a few extra roofing jobs lined up for weekends so he could have his own plans going on to help out financially if he's getting extra work in. So I need to keep the tone down and talk to him. See what's going on. There's no excuse for him not paying off the pram with all the time he's had but he might have plans in place, idk.
