I was reading about preps for the hurricane season.
I’m due on September which is 4 months away. I’m more scared about hurricanes than labor itself. I can’t imagine myself having my baby at home without epidural or a doctor or nurse whose can be there for any circumstance. I need to move out of FL.

I was 38 weeks during a hurricane and having contractions. The worst. Your doctor will usually give you the option of seeking shelter at the hospital with a family member during the hurricane if they suspect you’re close to labor.

Omg I didn’t even think about it. I’m due in September too. And I had to spend 7 days without power because of Irma it was terrible. Cannot imagine something like that with a newborn. But being positive it’s all we can do I guess. Natural disasters are so unpredictable.

The hospitals have the best hurricane proof construction they’re actually shelters for hurricane season. Try not to worry too much! Keep good health and spirit. Everything will be ok!

I’m in the same boat as you. We got lucky last year and got minimal damage, but idk how I’m going to go into labor/deal with a newborn in a hurricane
