Maybe try pumping and giving it to her in a bottle?

Also when I was trying to breastfeed I would use warm rags to help w/ the pain.

The first month is always the hardest; I felt like giving up millions of times.

It really is hard but, if you can push yourself you can make it to the 6 months point. If they hurt get some lanolin cream & I also got these cooling/heating pads for your breasts to soothe the pain & take away inflammation. You can also give your breasts a break for a little while & punk if you have one (if that would feel better for you) the better the latch the little to no pain to will feel. Practice makes perfect & I know you are feeling exhausted but, the end result is so worth it & don’t worry baby will get enough even I still feel that way too at times but, baby’s have the early growth spurts & cluster feedings as well & they can be frustrating but, you’re not doing anything wrong they are just growing.

Call your lactation consultant at the hospital. They are such awesome people and can guide you through the ups/downs. It was a struggle for me at first too but LC helped me work though it. I hope your nipples feel better soon. 💕

Pump* & they get hungrier in a shorter amount of time. Hot showers & try also different latching positions . It might be easier for you to lay down with baby & have them latch while they lay next to you or even better if they lay on you & latch that way. To me those hurt a lot less , once my breasts got accustomed any position is okay .

The let down also have like a prickly stinging pain too as well, you could also possibly have a sensitive or active let down. I deal with that as well.

Definitely talk to a lactation consultant, but it’s completely normal for them so nurse often in the first couple of months. She’s working on upping your supply and cluster feeding. When my girls were that age I felt like I nursed 24/7. As long as she’s gaining weight and is healthy then you’re doing just fine. The pain doesn’t last forever and it could be a latch issue as well.

@veex3 What's A Let Down

A let down is when you feel your milk coming in ether right before , or when baby latches & sucks on it or if you hear your baby or a baby cry OR if you think about your baby . Lol there’s pressure around your breasts & your Areola & nipples tingle & sting & it feels prickly . It hurts the worst in the beginning & as time goes on it will either stop OR you deal with it but, it won’t hurt as much or at all but, will still be able to tell when your milk is coming & your breasts drip the most around that time.

Another thing that helped me was the lasinoh nipple shields whenever they were really sore . I could use that & cope & the pain wouldn’t hurt as bad. I wouldn’t use it all the time, only when I was hurting.

Breath, you got this, it's hard but worth it a agree with every one above me, also try to massage towards your nipple when in the shower to help the flow and keep from getting clogged ducts. Nipple cream is a must I use mothers love it's natural and you don't have to clean it off before baby latches again. Soothing gel pads are amazing too

One thing that usually helped me release enough milk was a warm rag over my breast before feeding and after feeding. Then nipple cream.

A visit to the lactation consultant could give you some ideas on maybe a different feeding position that hurts less or not at all.

It will get better. I promise. New babies tend to cluster feed until your supply is up to their needs.

My youngest had such a bad latch at first that I blistered and bled. That hurt really bad. It took almost 3 weeks to fully heal from those blisters. Our lactation consultant showed me that he was treating my nipple like a straw instead of a proper wide latch. Now however we have made it 15 1/2 months and I’m trying to wean him.
