Congrats! Yay! My dd has the same medical issue. I’m wondering if that might be the reason she is difficult to potty train. I ended up getting the cream and things have been a bit easier.

Thank you ladies. She so proud of herself! @rowdy-vajazzy it could be why! Fused labia causes a small flap and urine can get trapped there causing uti and difficulty potty training. Her pediatrician told me to let her lead me and she has! She will be 4 in a month. I practically cried when she went and her smile when she got up and nothing trickled out melted my heart! 💓

@chantilly-lacebb, have they mentioned possibly using estrogen cream? I held off until she turned 3 and started potty training. I noticed that she had a super crazy stream! The cream has helped a ton and it only took a week or two to open.

My daughter has a partial fused labia as well! Congrats to your little one!

@rowdy-vajazzy I did but it didn't work. We got it when she was a year and half bc she got a UTI. Her pediatrician said it will open on it's own. It has opened up but around the top it was still fused. It's red on the edges like it opened the rest of the way recently. I don't know why the cream didn't work. Even the pediatrician was like seriously?!

@caylintay thank you! I was so mad at people try to tell me that she needed to be potty trained ASAP. I was even called a lazy mom bc of it! That really hurt and then when I found out that I was pregnant the same person was like you now will have three in diapers have fun with that one. 🙄 I haven't been over to see the person who said it since. They didn't even care that she has a problem and just wanted to put me down. So many people tried to tell me that her fused labia wasn't the reason even when I told them her Dr was the one who told me. They were like get a different Dr then. I don't need a different Dr. He knows what he's doing! And your no Dr anyway! I had to tell my sister that just bc her DD didn't have this issue doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

@chantilly-lacebb, that’s frustrating! My dd never got a uti, thankfully. That makes it tough! I’m glad she is finding success with potty training!

I used used to be super paranoid about it and asked about the cream and my pediatrician said things are changing and most of them don’t like giving out the cream cause it might just fuse back together until their older! People can be so rude but your her parent and YOU know best :)

We are still working on my former preemie so I get all the judgement too. Between the low muscle tone and SPD, it’ll be a slow road. I’m sick of everyone shaming him when he needs a diaper change. You never know what is causing the delay so shut the f up.

@laniejay exactly! Alisa was preemie too and never fully formed down there. I hate when people tell me she can do such and such and is just being difficult. Like no she is not being difficult! Your just being an ass. Leave us alone! Noone understand that she doesn't do alot of things bc she can't she tries but it takes her a while and they always come back with well my kid did this at this age. @chantilly-lacebb, I remember all you two went through. I get so frustrated with people who think that preemies are fine once they’re 2 or “caught up” or just because they can’t see the issues. Unfortunately the affects of being a preemie will follow them forever. As amazing as they are doing, and considering how much worse things could be- they still have things that follow them and people need to remember that. Give them space and they will move mountains.

@laniejay my sister did even care weather she was caught up or not. Her due date hadn't come yet and she tried to stick a global of chocolate frosting in her mouth and I flipped my shit! She was like well I did it and they're fine! I was like she isn't even supposed to be born yet! What you did I'm not doing! I got all kinds of shit for not giving her solids until 6 months. And even more bc she didn't have anything sweet until her first bday. I had to put my foot down and tell everyone don't worry about how I raise my DD. She's healthy and taken care of. They had they thier chance.

@laniejay Haha! Mine too. My little sister calls me all the time to ask advice. My older two have kids who are older than mine but they still ask me from time to time what I'd do. Lol. Funny how you have a preemie and everyone thinks you're wrong in raising then. Then they finally realize oh wait she's actually right and doing a great job!
