Does anyone LO talk to anyone and everyone? DF and I were/are both shy but DD talks to literally…

I’m in the same boat 😩 my son is a social butterfly and greets everyone he sees. If we let him walk anywhere he tries to run off and say hi to people. It’s scary! Michigan is a major hotspot for human trafficking.

My almost 4 year old loves to talk to people. I however hate people. I let her talk to everybody, I just keep a very close eye on her. I don’t want her to be afraid to talk to new people. It’s good to be social.

Adeline definitely does. However, I believe in a child’s intuition. If she doesn’t like or has a bad vibe about somebody, she definitely is less likely to speak.

@snoestorm exactly! Its usually only her and I out so it’s so scary, @bigmama18 yesss! I’m not much of a people person.. but I don’t want to discourage her and make her thing she’s doing something wrong by being friendly.. I just don’t know how to explain strangers to her because she doesn’t know a stranger lol everyone is her friend she thinks , @achappex3 I agree and there’s some people who she shys away from. But at the same time, when I was younger I used to go sit and talk with this man who lived down the road while riding my bike. He’s distant family, and I had many other GOOD family members around to keep an eye out.. but I would ride my bike and go sit on the picnic table with him, like every. Day. Apparently he was a child molester. 😳 my mom didn’t know I was riding my bike down that way but when she found out, she told me to never ever go around him.. He never tried to harm me and I don’t remember what our conversations were ever about, but I do remember I enjoyed his company back then. And I typically have very good intuition about people.. So just thinking back to that makes me realize you can’t really trust anyone. Who knows what could have happened if I kept visiting him.. 😞

Our kids will literally tell their life story to the Walmart greeter, but depends on the person if they get a bad vibe they won’t. We live in a small town so most places we frequent they know the kids by name. For example the ladies at Tim Hortons are all friends of the hubbys mom lol

@beakymcspence, lol the other day DD told the registration lady “she hit me and gave me a booboo” 😳😳😳 she was TRYING to say a bee hit her, and gave her a booboo but I just know that lady had to think I was horrible. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ But while waiting to get registered she literally yelled HIIIII and HEYYYY to every. single. person who walked by. And tried to start a conversation with every one of them... lol our town is on the smaller side, but there’s just sooooo many people on meth here. We don’t really get out and socialize a lot..

@lauren_leigh, Last summer I got a third degree burn from our fire pit (I tripped over my lawn chair) Our little guy legitimately said to the nurse “I love daddy’s corn hole it’s fuzzy” the nurse almost fainted. For some reason he thinks belly buttons are referred to as corn holes 🙄 My husband almost died of horror. We think it started because my brother referred to JJs feeding tube hole as a “corn hole” and now he thinks it and belly buttons are called that. Seriously most embarrassing moment. EVER.

@beakymcspence, 😂😂😂 these kids. And it’s like.. how do you get yourself out of that??? Where they will actually believe YOU. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ before zoey said “she hit me” and said “mommy’s doing bad stuff”. It’s a tough life when your kid loves to talk but says all the wrong stuff.

She got the “bad stuff” because DF was watching a tv show about vampires.. and it was super gory and scary and I told her to stay in the room and play with me because daddy’s watching bad stuff... so now every time we do something she thinks we aren’t supposed to(like if she catches us eating candy after we told her she couldn’t have anymore) .. it’s bad stuff. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My dd1 is like this with cashiers. She tries telling them everything about what we’re buying and if the cashier doesn’t respond she will repeat herself over and over 🤦🏻‍♀️

I really like the concept of teaching kids about tricky people instead of "don't talk to strangers". My son is only 2 so we're not quite there yet but he is super friendly and when we go for walks he'll try to go up to a random house if someone is outside, or if we pass someone he'll put his arms up for them to pick him up. Scares the crap out of me.

@kamiismommy328, oh yes whoever she talks to HAS to respond to her. @mokimbo, yes DD would literally go home with a complete stranger if she likes them, and especially if they have kids. She LOVES kids. I’ve tried to talk to her about not getting too close to strangers but she will literally go hug just about anyone and go home with them. Lol I swear her life at home IS NOT bad!! 😂😂 she gets plenty of attention, is well fed, has plenty of toys and is very loved. She just loves meeting new people and making new friends.

@jules828, it’s gotten sooooo much worse. Literally can’t hardly take her grocery shopping with me cause it takes an hour longer than what it should cause she stops everyoneeee.

@spookylyn, I agree. I don’t want to discourage her from being friendly, I LOVE her love for people.. I don’t think she quite understands yet what I’m trying to say though. In her mind she doesn’t really think anyone is dangerous. I guess it’s just one of those things I will have to keep talking to her about until she can really understand it.

My kids do. They used to say hi to everyone who would walk by. They are older now and not as open to talking to random people.

Yep. My little one chats so much she even talks to herself 😂.

Ladies... probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life tonight.... we were at the grocery and DD saw a lady with no teeth... she called her over and said “did you lose all your teeth ?” And they lady looked confused and zoey goes 😬😬😬 and pointed at her teeth and asked the lady where all her teeth went. O M G. 😳🤦🏻‍♀️

@lauren_leigh kids are so funny and inquisitive. I love that about them .
