Sertraline and cyclizine - I’m in 100mg of sertraline and been given cyclizine after suffering extreme morning sickness. Has anyone taken these together in pregnancy is this safe?
Hiya i take both together and its fine ,i also had to take both with my son 3 years ok,drs were very good when he was born checking him over etc never affected him x
Sertraline is ok to take in pregnancy aslong as the benefits outweigh the risk. It’s not advised to take it in the first trimester though. Some things it may cause it the baby to have small breathing problems when born, withdrawals, preterm labour. I’m sure there’s something else but I can’t remember at the top of my head. However a lot of women have taken it and everything be fine. It’s a VERY small risk. X
I also thought you weren't meant to take sertraline in pregnancy? I am sure that there is something else other than that which is 'safer' in pregnancy but can't think of the name x
I am sure it’s ok. If unsure ring your GP to double check. Hope it eases, I’m in the same boat and hoping to get some medication, just managed to get an appointment this afternoon with the midwife. I’m a sick, tired, emotional mess 🙈
Thanks for the replies everyone, I double checked months before ttc about sertraline and was advised to stay on it throughout pregnancy and that it was the safest AD, sadly I have failed in trying to wean myself off it for 4yrs before deciding to have a baby on it would be better than without for me personally. I double checked with my GP and they said the medications are safe together - very relieved as my sickness was so bad I couldn’t keep anything g down for days and became very weak.
