@ss3mom, I think anything that desensitizes kids to what is ok or not can be really dangerous. I would not be ok w my kids seeing this bc I want them to know under no circumstances is it ok for them to have their body violated or to be put in an uncomfortable position and not be able to leave. Kids do not know the difference bw people and animals until they’re a lot older. IMO they’re way too impressionable
@whatheshell, awesome great. Thanks for letting me know. I honestly meant no offense by any of my comments. Like u said these are our opinions and we are both entitled to express them
@ss3mom, you didn’t upset me at all. We are both entitled to our opinions. It’s not a movie I will allow my kids to watch and your fine with letting your kids see it, it’s both of our rights as parents.
Also @whatheshell, I hope I didn’t upset u either about my point of view on the subject. It was not my intention at all. So I hope I didn’t offend anyone really
I’m afraid I may have hijacked the post talking about breeding. Anyway back to the op. That part of the movie didn’t bother me or my children. So I guess we are lucky because nothing like that has ever happened to us. Sorry for stating facts and starting the convo about breeding
@mamabird228, Oh yes West Coast Rare Bulldogs in Vancouver BC see for yourself on her website. $40,000-$60,000 for lilacs. I have a dog from her and I paid about $10,000 but we never bred her as she had aggression issues with cats. She’s also produced one recently with a cleft palate and listed it for $10,000 saying it was a slight cosmetic issue..If you properly test your adults before line breeding them like cattle you’d know they carried that gene and wouldn’t be bred. CKC can’t enforce breeders test their adults so you now must legally provide a health guarantee stating you will replace a puppy. Our pups leave at 12 weeks so in that extra 4 weeks they are genetically tested and certified for life.
@mamabird228, There’s still people here who are puppy mills. 2 French Bulldog breeders in my province were arrested last year and charges for animal cruelty. It was televised with police officers removed dead and dying dogs along with puppies.
@mamabird228, We were actually on holiday last year for Canada day, and we of course travel with our dogs. Both our females naturally tied on my parents back deck 😂 Had two litters of stunners that August. We’ve been approached by several breeders simply to buy sperm and to this day it blows me away..if you can’t bring your dog to our male we aren’t having him collected off of. There’s some people here who sell lilac French Bulldogs for $40,000 a puppy..the length Bulldog breeders will go to is asinine, especially when your seeing it from the inside. They are treated like cattle with no purpose aside from producing puppies. Our dogs are pets and travel with us. Our main stud is also a trained and certified as a service dog for our son.
@mamabird228, omg that’s insane I’m from Canada like @beakymcspence, and used to breed & train dogs and none of that ish would be allowed over here for a second.
@mamabird228, Absolutely we are all ethical over here. We breed for quality not quantity. We actually have a puppy going to a BB’er down in Vegas next month. If you add me
I can send some pics or you can find us on IG. 😊
@mamabird228, That’s disgusting, and sad because in most breeds cleft palate is genetic. If the proper testing was done those dogs would never have been bred. I knew a lady who bred Dalmatians (we used the same vet) that breed is prone to deafness and she’d euthanize puppies that were deaf. Heart breaking.
@mamabird228, Not completely true I breed Canadian Kennel Club French Bulldogs it’s a common myth they have to be AI’d and require csections. My males are all capable of a natural tie, and have only ever required one csection and that was Easter of 2015. Some broad chested males are not capable of a natural tie, but more often people use AI as it attributes to larger litters. Larger litters mean smaller pups at birth and a smaller chance of requiring a csection. I also know many English breeders who breed and whelp naturally also. I deliver all my litters in our home nursery, our 2015 csection was due to her only have one puppy and he was very very large and was sideways. A lot of the time they use AI to get more puppies, which means more dough in their pocket 🙄
@phoebesmommy, yes I saw a lot I didn’t want to see when it came to the breeders. I was thrown into an exam room with the dr masturbating the dog for his semen sample!! I was shocked to say the least
@curious.george, ok I see your ladies point. Just stating fact I know about dog shows. Sure they should have and could have kept that part out but they didn’t. Let’s just make sure if our children ever see anything like this we take the time out to make them aware of what can and cannot be done to their bodies.
@ss3mom, they do check in dog shows . I wonder why they felt the need to add it to a kids movie too. They could have left that scene out. If dd were to watch a movie like this she would be grossed out. Thanks for the heads up op lol
@crai, yeah I mean it just comes down to personal convictions. We can’t protect our kids from everything but we can use things that are inappropriate as teaching tools. It’s so hard when it comes to shows tho bc it’s a nice thing to use to occupy them when we want to get stuff done and if we don’t monitor what they watch, we put them in vulnerable positions as they’re making sense of the world around them.

@mrschanandlerbong95, haha it was either the dog show or the avengers. Which I thought would be a little much for my 3 year old. Again I honestly didn’t think anything of that part of the movie
@mamabird228, yes you’re right they could have used it as a better teaching moment but let’s not forget these are dogs!!! So much of Children’s movies are geared a little towards the adults. I think this was one of those moments. And a lot of these things go way over kids heads
@ss3mom, I was reading this post like there’s no way wtf that’s so messed how is this in a kids movie or any movie, molesting dogs is illegal. Then I read your clarification and it makes total sense lol.
@whatheshell, is actually not weird because most of the dogs in the shows are breeding dogs. I worked for a speciality vet hospital and we had a breeder there. She would masturbate the dogs to collect semen samples then do AI for breeding purposes
@whatheshell, it was a part of the movie not the whole movie. In dog shows they check that the males are intact. And that both testicles are in place. Some dogs testicles don’t always drop. If they don’t they are judged by that. I’m not saying these thing to argue with u I’m just informing u on what I know about dogs and dog shows
@ss3mom, no I haven’t and now I won’t. Still, I don’t think it’s an appropriate movie for children. I’m not sure what a dogs private parts are apart of a dog show anyways, that’s just weird.
@whatheshell, ok I was just stating my opinion. But have u ever watched or know anything about dog shows? Cause that’s what they do to the dogs during the physical exam part. They are not molesting dogs as someone else put it. That’s a stretch IMO.
@ss3mom, you may not think it’s a big deal but some of us do and we are entitled to our opinions. This is not a movie I would allow my children to watch.
Omg it’s not about molesting dogs!! It’s about dog shows. Where they always check the genitals of the animals. Both male and female. They also check their legs, ears, teeth and other body parts. I think everyone is taking this way out of context. There I said it again.
So I went to the movie with my kids. They are 5&1/2 and 3&1/2 and they didn’t think anything of it. They haven’t asked any questions about it and if they do I’ll explain to them. First off it a dog. Second that’s why they do in dog shows it’s a part of the show. They do a full physical exam. I really didn’t see anything wrong with it. Maybe because I’ve luckily never been an abuse victim and I’ve worked in the vet field for almost 16 years and we do a lot of things to dogs they don’t like. Idk I think it’s getting blown way out of context
@scruffy.nerf.herder, the story is about a cop dog who goes uncover and is in a dog show and apparently in the dog show they touch the dogs private parts and the cop dog doesn’t like that so his human person tells him he needs to let them touch his private parts and needs to go to his happy place when they do it.
