Question, Please Help.

My sons 1st birthday party is July 29th, I mailed invites and some I gave my husband to give out. Now I was hearing him telling everyone he gave them to come but don't bring anything just come. Do I sound crazy when I say, Why are you telling ppl that, let them do what they want to automatically tell ppl not to bring anything bc the baby wont have no little gifts for his first birthday. I said well I feel if I go to a birthday party I am going to be bringing a gift I feel its only right.
