daycare question..

I don't know if anyone can answer here for sure but I thought I would try. So my DD is three on Tuesday. I found out today I have to go to a surgical consult on Monday where I most likely be scheduled for surgery within a week or two. Which means I won't be able to pick her up for a bit. So my mom offered to keep her for, which dd would love. But my mom has to work as well. So she offered to put her in daycare for the short time. It's right by her job on a air force base so I know the people are all checked out. But my question is can you put kids in daycare for just a couple weeks? I'm not sure how this works & don't have long to figure it out.
