what to do???

So I saw the where's my daddy post earlier today. And it really got me thinking about my situation. My daughter's sperm donor has been out of her life since she was 6 weeks old she is now two and a half. He has since been sent to prison at least until she's 13. But he won't be allowed to have contact with her.per court order & my wishes. ( charged with lewd acts against one of his girlfriend's kids) She has his last name and I've been trying to get him to let me change it.( I need his permission he's on the birth certificate) but it looks like I'm going to court to take his rights. So I can change her name and my husband, her daddy can adopt her. My question is once all this happens and her name is the same as all of ours would you tell her who her biological father is? It's hard because I still have some contact with his mother, and brother. They live out of state so they've only seen her like 4 times and for an hour at time. They do call and check on her from time to time. When I talk to his family about it they said they would back my decision either way but they still want to know her. But I feel her knowing them would be weird if she doesn't know about her biological father. I always thought I would be honest with my kids about where they came from but now I don't think it's such a good idea. I mean why even tell her about someone she's never going to see until she's at least 18? But I have this fear if I don't tell her she'll hate me. I just don't know what the best thing to do is? Sorry I guess I just needed to get it out it's been in my head for the past 2 years pretty much.
