Noise sensitivity?

I don't know if anyone has any experience with this & sorry if this is long. Dd2 is 3. For quite a while now she seems to be very sensitive to certain noises. I don't even know how long for actually. She puts her hands over her ears and says "it's too loud mummy", & sometimes she says it hurts her ears too. It's not even particularly loud noises either. She did it tonight when I put the shower on ? she really doesn't like the lawnmower or hand driers (she has a complete fit) but I always just put that down to just being one of those things, as they are loud.
