Milk protein allergy?

Is anyone dealing with a baby with a milk protein allergy? I'm overwhelmed! my son has been on breast milk and formula from the beginning..he's 10 weeks and Monday he started pooping and having some mucous and blood mixed in. Dr said sounds like milk protein allergy, said don't change anything for a week see if it goes away, if not I'll have to cut all dairy and soy out of my diet which is in EVERYTHING! And change his formula..it's been a few days and his poops look a little better but still have mucous in them and he has a few of the other symptoms like a little bit of Eczema, spitting up, bad gas pains..just overwhelmed at the moment
