Nexaplon or patch?

I'm torn between getting the patch for birth control or nexaplon. For those who have had either please share your experience. My husband thinks I should get nexaplon because it last for 3 years. But I've heard it can have bad side effects. Although you have to change the patch once a week I've heard the side effects aren't bad so I'm torn
