got a child support case going

I turned in the application and they gave me a case number and I have a pin set up. What happens now? They said they will sent me a packet to fill out.. how long does that take after that? I didn't know his address but I knew his social so I'm guessing they can locate him that way. I'm pretty aware that it will take a while but I'm curious of any experiences after this.
