The ER is not your Primary Care...man flu

I just got over the flu but now my girls and brother have it. He's saying he needs to go to the doctors yet has no health insurance. So he wants me to take him to the ER. There's nothing they can do or give for this. Even if they did give meds he can't afford them. I tried explaining to him it's pointless and all he will be doing is racking up medical bills. I feel the ER is for life threatening issues. If anything he can bring back something worse. He doesn't understand that it's the flu you're going to feel like shat. You're going to feel like a truck ran you over. I know because I just got over it. Layed up in bed for 4 days. He keeps going on about being congested and having a bad couch. All while I'm sitting here with the same thing just don't feel like my body has been ran over. I don't know how else to explain to him the ER will be a huge waste of time and he needs to just let this run it's course. I know I'm sounding a little heartless. But my thing is why pay hundreds to possibly thousands for something the ER can't do anything about? That and I would need to take him there and possibly wait with him because he broke his phone. Also this wouldn't be the first time with him going to the ER for something that the ER can't do much about. He pulled a muscle a year ago and again call a ambulance only for them to tell him to ice it. That trip was 3k. Smh... any advice ladies.
