degenerative disc disease

Does anyone have this? I was just diagnosed today along with scoliosis which I already knew. I guess it can really mess with the nerves in not only your back but whole body. I'm still waiting for the info from my neck xray and a possible mass. Next month they will be talking possible surgery but if I am not a candidate I'm looking at a life on pain meds. I'm just down about this. I really don't want this. I hate that I'm in pain 24/7. Why cant i have a normal back. Sorry I don't know where I'm going with this. I'm just bummed and need to vent. ?
